5 best etsy repurposed christmas ornaments for 2012
by Mitchell Eismont
I am extremely interested in repurposed artwork. I think it has something to do with my humble up bringing and being poor. We could find uses for a lot of objects that people would throw at. As I grew into an artist, I repurpose a lot of things. As a matter of fact I collect old sign letters, and I am working on an alphabet in my design studio. Anyway here are my favorite repurposed etsy.com Christmas ornaments.
#1 Orange Crush Star Christmas Ornaments by LizardSkins

Lizardskins has a ton of different styles of this pop can ornament. (Yeah we say pop instead of soda in Pennsylvania). You can by about any ornament in any aluminum can ever.
#2 Handmade Ball Ornaments Vintage Music Score by StartTalkingVintage

I am a big fan of old paper, and reusing something like score sheets is pretty genius. The other thing I like about these is the fact that the music notes create a really interesting texture.
#3 Paper Christmas Ornament Polish Star by HullStreetGreen

Again, I am a big fan of printed items. These stars are made from old dictionaries, and again you can see the interesting texture that the type makes on these.
#4 Bicycle Chain Star Ornament by SpokenStitch

Who doesn’t love this ornament. It reminds me of being a young kid riding my bicycle around the block, causing terror.
#5 Upcycled Brown Paper Kudusama Flower by DIYdesigngirl

This one is perfect for the minimalist in all of us. It also has a very natural feel to it, if you are going for a more organic style tree.

I just discovered that you posted my ornament! Very excited to be mentioned on your blog! Thank you!
You are very welcome. If you are doing one in 2013. Send me a link. I plan on doing this every year. People need more notoriety for the cool work they are doing on etsy.
