5 best upcycled Christmas and holiday decor and decoration on etsy.
by Mitchell Eismont
I am very interested in recycled materials and upcycled designs. I stated this in another blog entry, I was very poor when I was child, so we found ways to make things with what we had. For instance you can stay warm at night with a two liter soda bottle filled with hot water. When you can’t afford heat this is a life saver.
As a grew up I became semi successful in my profession, but I always remember my humble roots. Anyway today’s list is going to be the top 5 upcycled holiday decorations.
1. Christmas Garland Red, Pink and Silver Crotched Party Decor by MaryJeansThings

There are a lot of things you can do with paper, if you look at the things I like on my other blog posts, paper has a lot to do with them. We are moving out of the print generation into a digital generation. I love the colors of this garland and it is a really interesting idea.
2. Christmas tree decoration folded paper by TableAndTea

This is an interesting idea for an up cycled holiday decoration. A lot of these decorations I would like to see a DIY on.
3. Upcycled Recycled / Christmas Stocking by GroovyGarbage

I really love the idea of this, taking a coffee bean bag and repurposing it into a Christmas stocking. I also love the name of this Etsy Store GroovyGarbage.
4. Mid Century Modern Decorations by Bookity

I really like the idea of looking at the vernacular of past generations of design and trying to do it in a new way. This is a really simple elegant decoration.
5. Santa Claus Print by Printland

I have seen this idea over the years in different craft shows in the Cincinnati area. I like that they are using the dictionary page for texture. It would be interesting to see how they did the print for this.
