I am a big proponent of shopping local and from mom and pop style stores. I haven’t been to Walmart to buy something in over 7 years. Anyway this year I am going to post up the 5 best etsy upcycled gifts for him. I will be picking things that you can give to your freelance graphic designer or in-house graphic designer.
1. Handmade Leather Journal by EcclesiaLeather
What graphic designer or art director doesn’t need this elegant sketch book or journal? It is pretty cheap also for being hand bound leather.
2. Watercolor Iphone for case by TreasureChestPhone
If I had an Iphone (I am still holding out until they make an app that will cook my breakfast and clean my house) I would love to have this case. I would set my phone upside down on my desk and it would look like I was in the middle of a pretty cool project at all times.
3. People I want to punch in the face journal by 27thstreetpress
I could sure use one of these journals today. Artists are typically passive aggressive, I am sure most graphic designers will have a list of clients in this book.
4. 26 in 1 USB card reader Super Mario Brothers by VisualRemix
I think this is a pretty cool idea, not so sure about the design execution. Most of us graphic designers and artists grew up playing these games. This would be a nice personal touch for a desktop.
#5 2013 Calendar Poster Print Retro Wood Block Style by yumalum
I like the design of this. I am not sure though it was actually done with wood type. I wish it was. Never the less it would still make a great gift.
